We employ the Functional Movement System (presently used by the NFL) to identify dysfunctional movement patterns with all of our clients. Next, our trainers correct dysfunctional patterns through a corrective movement system in the form of stretching, mobilizing and strengthening. Once the body is moving in acceptable patterns we give our clients various multi-joint exercises to keep the body and core strong in all ranges of motion. Our tools and exercises of choice include:

  • Kettlebells for swinging, cleaning, pressing and snatching
  • Various barbells and power rack for squatting and deadlifting
  • Dumbbells and sandbags for lunging, stepping, and lateral movement

Sometimes clients require more attention in order to get rid of the root cause of their dysfunction. When the Functional Movement System fails to clear up dysfunction the remedy is beyond the principles of that system and a more powerful system must be employed... the tools of this system are:

  • Neurologically based; so you will experience rapid changes.
  • Focused on the joints; therefore lasting changes in your movement are achieved by changing their signals.
  • Aware that mobile joints create strong, pain-free movement and compromised joints = weak, painful movement.
  • Working with clients visual, vestibular and proprioceptive systems; which results in a more comprehensive approach to changing movement and pain patterns.
  • Initiated active movements by the client rather than passive techniques; which are more accepted by the clients nervous system and easier to maintain between sessions.
  • Sympethetic to the body's survival mechanism and works with them; therefore the client is always being watched for signs of discomfort commonly referred to as the startle response.
  • Non-tolerant of client pain; because pain during therapy sessions can be interpreted by the clients nervous system as a threat. It is therefore counterproductive to recovery.
  • All backed up with supporting DVDs and manuals for client reference and practice...
